Academy of Hawaiian Arts and MKH Productions presented "Waikiki" on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward, CA. “Waikiki" debuted a new, original work by renowned kumu hula Mark Keali’i Ho’omalu and the award-winning dancers of the Academy of Hawaiian Arts in Oakland. Focusing on the celebrated location, Waikiki, from impressions of life before Western contact to its “Golden Age,” this modern interpretation of Hawaiian dance promises to educate, entertain and inspire.
